During our annual budget meeting, the Pack 84 Leadership Committee set our annual dues (inclusive of all national, regional, and local dues) for $300 per Scout for the 2025-26 program year. We are pleased to also announce that this year, Scouts that actively participate in our annual popcorn sales will earn a discounted rate of $225* for their annual dues!
Dues are paid in two installments:
The first installment of $150 (or $20 if you paid your national and council dues directly online via My.Scouting) per Scout will be charged to your household Scout Account on August 19 or on the day your Scout joins the Pack.
The second and final installment of $150 (or just $75* if discounted) per Scout will be charged to your household Scout Account on December 1.
New pack members are required (and returning members are highly encouraged) to be paid up on dues before participating in any pack outings.
* For each Scout to receive the discounted rate, they must participate in two separate storefront popcorn fundraiser events during Fall 2025. In the case of siblings, each Scout must individually participate in two separate events to receive the discount, which may be the same or different events as their siblings. Information on participating in these fundraiser events will be shared on our Popcorn page in the near future.
Dues are automatically charged to your household's Scout Account, so if you already have enough funds to cover them through fund raising, there's nothing that needs to be done!
You can make a deposit to your Scout Account to cover your dues.
To pay in-person at a Den meeting, bring cash or a check and talk to our treasurer.

Our committee has set the following budget for 2025-26, broken down per Scout:
$85 goes to Scouting America to cover national dues
$45 goes to the Mobile Area Council to cover regional dues
~$55 goes to the cost of advancement regalia (beltloops, badges, neckerchiefs, etc.)
~$70 goes towards pack event costs that we don't recover from per-event fees (Blue and Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby, etc.)
~$45 goes towards covering registration and training fees for our adult leaders (so there's no extra cost for you to volunteer!)
~$55 goes towards maintenance and our other miscellaneous or incidental costs (Pack trailer maintenance, den meeting supplies, etc.)
This totals around ~$355 per Scout to cover our annual operations costs, or about $17,750 per year for the entire pack!
Thankfully, our Popcorn sales and other fundraisers allow us to reduce these costs so they are not all charged in each Scout's annual dues. Shout outs to all our parents and youth for your support in our annual fundraising initiatives!
Scout families should also budget for the following.
Uniform supplies, available at the Mobile Scout Shop located at 2587 Government Blvd, Mobile, AL 36606.
Per-event fees for each particpating Scout and family member. Our leaders work hard to offer about one Outing each month, and to keep each outing's per-person fees as low as possible!
In 2024-25, we were able to charge only $5 or $6 per Scout to recover the cost of food at two of our campouts. Other outings, such as the USS Alabama Battleship lock-in, can have higher per-event fees to cover park admission costs. Learn more at our Outings and Previous Outings pages.
Optional costs including event souvenirs, add-on experiences, and more.
Sorry, all dues are non-refundable.
Absolutely! In addition to the automatic dues discount for participating in our storefront popcorn fundraisers, Scouts who go above and beyond in their fundraising efforts can earn extra cash directly to their Scout Account to pay for dues or pack activities!
In addition, part of our pack's miscellaneous budget goes to cover our Scout Assistance Fund. Our Pack believes that no child should be prevented from experiencing Scouting. If your familiy needs assistance with dues or other Scout-related fees in order to participate in our Pack, please contact any of our Pack or Den leaders to learn about how you can benefit from this program.
