Welcome to the 2025 popcorn fundraiser. This will be a great year for us and I hope we shatter our sales goal! Our goal this year is $15,000 in total sales, and I know we can do it if we all pitch in and do our part.

I am glad you asked!
This is an easy one to answer because the bottom line is that SCOUTING RUNS ON POPCORN. Keep in mind that the money raised during the next couple of months will fund Pack 84’s scouting year. There are many events we do that are free to the scouts, but the Pack has to pay for them somehow. Here are the main selling points I want to focus on this year:
We sell popcorn because it….
Keeps our annual dues down
Funds the scouting events, awards, etc.
Offsets the cost of our camping trips
Keeps our equipment running and in good repair
Builds teamwork within the Pack as Scouts from different dens get to sell together
Build Scout self-confidence as they interact with customers and run their storefront
Can literally pay for your entire scouting year
The main way we sell is through pre-reserved storefronts. It is all run through the trails end app (more on that later), and we have some great storefront opportunities this year. I’m talking about Bass Pro, Sams Club, Lowes, and more.
A storefront typically consists of two scouts per two-hour shift. It is very simple to set up and run, so please don’t be intimidated by the thought of running one. All sales are run through the Trails End app, and this year we have two big changes that will make our lives easier for making sales.
1. All bagged flavors will be one price - $20 (unbelievable butter is still $25)
2. We can now do ‘Tap to Pay’ on our phones, via the Trails End app
These two changes will make it easier for Scouts and parents to remember the prices and not have to fumble around with the Square card reader. Trust me, these are big changes and will definitely make your storefront shift run smoother. At the end of the day, we want these storefronts to be profitable, but also fun! Believe it or not, it is actually pretty fun to see these hard-working Scouts out there hustling at these storefronts.
This year we have several selling incentives for both the parents and the Scouts.
1. Reduced annual dues by $75 to all scouts completing at least two storefront shifts!
2. Trails End Amazon gift cards to Scouts as they hit certain selling milestones.
3. Weekly Counsel drawings for sellers that hit certain selling milestones.
4. Prizes for top selling Scout in each Region.
5. Prizes for the top three selling Scouts in Pack 84.
6. * Pack 84 end of season raffle that will be open to all scouts that sold.
7. ** Cash donations received during a shift will go towards your Scout’s scout account.
*Scouts will earn one raffle ticket for every $25 in sales during their shift that will be for the end of season raffle. For example, if two Scouts sell a total of $445 on their shift, they each earn 17 raffle tickets,
**For the first two shifts the cash donations will be split 50/50 between the Pack and the Scouts. All shifts after that will go directly to the Scout’s scout account. This can literally pay for your entire scouting year!
All scouts need to be registered in the Trails End app in order to participate. This is where you will reserve your shifts for the storefront sales, as well as how you will make sales while on shift. When you register your Scout please use the following info:
Council - Mobile Area
Region - 5 Rivers
Pack – 1084
Unit code – DCPVS
Once you are signed in to the trails end app you can get the QR code for your Scout and send it to anyone or post it on social media for direct on-line sales that your Scout will get credit for.
(I will discuss these briefly, but I am available for any parent interested)
1. Wagon sale
2. Private storefront
3. On-Line (as mentioned above)
4. Business/Office sales
1. We are selling scouting, not popcorn. Our sales pitch should be centered around scouting and the opportunities this fundraiser affords your Scout.
2. A Scout is courteous - say excuse me sir or ma’am, yes ma’am and yes sir, and always thank them whether they buy popcorn or not.
3. Look like a Scout - We ask that all scouts be in their class A uniforms. If you are a new Scout or your class A doesn’t fit from last year, don’t sweat it, they can sell in their Pack 84 t-shirt.
4. Hydrate - these shifts are in August and September, and it is hot out there.
5. Bring a chair - a simple folding chair will go a long way.
6. A Scout is clean - we want to leave the storefront location cleaner than we found it.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call, text, or e-mail me.
